Combination therapy with oral minoxidil and dutasteride in the treatment of male patterned baldness: A case report

Androgenetic alopecia is a medical condition with deep social and psychological impact on the affected individuals characterized by progressive hair thinning, leading to loss over scalp in both males females. Minoxidil oral form primarily an antihypertensive drug, whose mechanism of action not completely known. Dutasteride 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, acting alpha-1 alpha-2 receptors. The author combined these two agents for treatment male patterned baldness found that this combination imparts visible increase thickness, density, new growth patient, within short period causing minimal side effects.
